In 2004, the Rogue Valley Symphonic Band introduced its Young Artist Solo Competition aimed at high school students in northern California and southern Oregon who play band instruments. Intended to become an annual event, the RVSB hopes to encourage outstanding instrumentalists in their pursuit of excellence. Winners include:

Applications for the 2008 YASC must be postmarked no later than February 1, 2008. The winner of the 2008 competition will be awarded a $300 prize, a commemorative plaque, and a solo appearance in concert with the RVSB on April 27, 2008. Click on the appropriate button(s) below for:
